About

Nook Share covers Nook covers, Nook cases, and Nook accessories for the original Barnes and Noble (BN) Nook, the Nook Color, and the Nook Touch.

Why should you buy a Nook Color?

Nook Share is an online magazine all about the nook and what you can do with it. It’s mission is to answer the question, “Why should I buy a Nook Color?” This is different than asking, “Why should I buy a Nook Color instead of an iPad or Kindle?” for example, because this is not a comparison site. There are plenty of other sites that do that. You already know whether or not you are going to buy a nook and if you’re here now, there’s a chance you’ve already bought one. If that’s the case, kudos to you. You’ve made a wise choice. While all nook models are nice, the Nook Color specifically, is one of the most powerful and versatile tablet PCs on the market and the fact that Barnes and Noble do not shout that from the roof tops is beyond me, and the nook model we will be primarily focusing on at Nook Share.

What can I do with a Nook Color?

Barnes and Noble calls the Nook Color “The Readers Tablet” because it is more than just an ereader. Like the iPad, the Nook Color is a tablet computer that can also read books, magazines, and newspapers, which it does very well. Students are now using the Nook Color to purchase and rent etextbooks via NookStudy, parents are enjoying children’s books that read to them and contain interactivity, and according to the New York Times, female magazine readers are “flocking to the nook color” stating that, the “‘Nook Color really taught us an important lesson in that consumers in their interests are really diverse,’ said David Carey, president of Hearst Magazines. ‘We have those that want a really enhanced edition with cinematic elements which you find in iTunes, and those who want a more straightforward version of their favorite magazine where the benefit is portability.’”

What’s the story behind Nook Share?

Nookshare.com was registered on March 17, 2008 to promote a new brand of coworking called Nook Share, but Barne’s and Noble, Inc. registered “Nook” as a trademark on June 4, 2009 for a, “portable electronic apparatus for displaying, receiving, reading and storing downloadable electronic publications, namely, books, e-books, magazines, newspapers, text, images, digital web site content and digital media featuring music through wired and wireless Internet access, accessories therefor and instructional manuals, sold as a unit,” so the coworking brand began promoting Barne’s and Noble’s nook™ in October 2009, which is a registered trademark of Barnes & Noble, Inc.. On August 17, the site was renamed from Nook Covers, “Nook Tablets, eBooks, Covers, Cases, & Accessories” to Nook Share, News and information about the most popular Nook Color books, magazines, apps, and accessories. The focus has shifted from being a site about covers, cases, and accessories, to being more about the content (exclusive and otherwise) for the Nook Color.
